Sand Zoo does not ask you for any personal information, and the developer of Sand Zoo never receives or sees any data about you. The app does, however, show advertising supplied by Google AdMob, and Google collects data in order to serve and measure those ads. This page explains exactly what that means.
Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no server belonging to Sand Zoo. Your game progress is never uploaded anywhere. The developer has no way to identify you or to contact you.
Sand Zoo is free and is funded by ads. It shows a banner while the game is paused, and an occasional full-screen ad between rounds. These are delivered by Google AdMob, a Google service.
To choose and measure the ads it shows, Google collects and processes certain information from your device. According to Google, this may include:
Your device's advertising identifier — a resettable ID that identifies your device to advertisers, but not you personally.
Device and app information — device model, operating system version, language, the app you are using, and general performance data.
Approximate location, derived from your IP address. Sand Zoo does not request or use precise GPS location, and does not hold the location permission.
Ad interaction data — whether an ad was shown, viewed, or tapped.
This data goes to Google, not to the developer of Sand Zoo. Google's use of it is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can read how Google uses information from apps that use its services at Google's partner sites page.
Reset or delete your advertising ID. On Android, open Settings → Privacy → Ads (the exact path varies by device). You can reset the ID, or delete it entirely so apps can no longer use it.
Opt out of personalised ads. The same Settings screen lets you turn off ad personalisation. Sand Zoo will still show ads, but they will not be personalised.
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, Sand Zoo shows you a consent screen the first time you play, using Google's official consent tool. Your choice there controls whether personalised ads may be shown. You can change it at any time by clearing the app's data.
The app saves the following in its own private storage, readable only by Sand Zoo:
Your best score.
Your settings — music, sound effects, vibration, sand style, and whether the on-screen buttons are shown.
Your advertising consent choice, stored by Google's consent tool.
None of this is transmitted to the developer. Uninstalling the app deletes it. If Android's backup service is enabled on your device, the score and settings may be included in your device backup, which is handled entirely by Google under their privacy policy.
Permission
Why
INTERNET
To fetch ads. The game itself works fully offline.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
So the ad library can tell whether a connection is available.
AD_ID
To read the advertising identifier described above.
Sand Zoo requests no camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage, or phone permissions, and it never shows a runtime permission prompt. Additional low-level entries such as WAKE_LOCK are added automatically by Google's ad library and are not used by the game itself.
Sand Zoo is suitable for all ages. It contains no chat, no user-generated content, and no way for anyone to contact a player through the app. The app is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us at the address below and we will act on it.
The developer holds no data about you, so there is nothing for the developer to retain or delete. Data held by Google in connection with advertising is retained and deleted according to Google's own policies; you can manage it through your Google account and through your device's advertising settings.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address and the date at the top will be revised.
Questions about this policy can be sent to us.
