This policy explains exactly what My Tax Relief does with your information. The short version: your receipts and expense records stay on your device and in your own Google Drive. We operate no servers and we never receive your data.

Two things do involve third parties, and they are described in full below: advertising and in-app purchases.

1. We run no servers

My Tax Relief has no backend. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any server of ours, because we do not operate any. We cannot read your receipts, your expense amounts, or your categories.

2. Your data is stored locally

All receipts and expense records are stored in a database on your own device. This is the primary copy of your data.

3. Your Google Drive, your control

When you sign in and enable backup, the app writes to your Google Drive account:

• Receipt images, into a folder named Tax_Receipts

• Expense rows, into a spreadsheet named Malaysia_Tax_2025

The app uses the restricted drive.file permission. This means it can only see and modify files it created itself. It has no ability to read anything else in your Drive — your documents, photos, and other files remain completely inaccessible to it.

These files belong to you. You may view, edit, or delete them at any time from Google Drive, with or without the app.

4. Signing in

Authentication is handled entirely by Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication. Your Google password is never seen, handled, or stored by this app. We receive only your email address, display name, and profile picture, and these are used solely to show you which account is signed in.

5. Advertising

The free version of My Tax Relief displays adverts supplied by Google AdMob. To serve these, Google may collect and process:

• Your device's Advertising ID

• Device and general location information (such as country)

• Ad interaction data, such as which adverts were shown

This collection is performed by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's Privacy & Terms. Your receipts, expense amounts, and financial data are never shared with advertisers.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you will be shown a consent form on first launch where you can choose how your data is used for advertising. You can reset this choice at any time from your device settings.

You can limit ad tracking through your device: Settings → Google → Ads.

Purchasing Pro removes all advertising permanently. Pro users are served no adverts, and the advertising SDK is not initialised for them at all.

6. In-app purchases

My Tax Relief offers a one-time "Go Pro" unlock, processed entirely by Google Play Billing. Your payment details are handled by Google and are never seen, transmitted, or stored by this app or its developer.

The app stores only a single flag on your device recording whether Pro has been unlocked. Your entitlement is tied to your Google account, so it can be restored on a new device using the "Restore purchase" option.

7. Deleting your data

You are in full control:

• On your device — delete individual expenses in the app, or uninstall it to remove all local data

• In your Drive — delete the Tax_Receipts folder and the Malaysia_Tax_2025 spreadsheet

• Revoke access — remove the app's Google permissions at myaccount.google.com/permissions

Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our end.

8. Children

My Tax Relief is intended for adults managing their own tax affairs. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app.

Any incompatibility, malfunction, data loss, or limitation arising from operating system updates, platform policy changes, or future software environments shall be the sole responsibility of the user.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages resulting from the use or inability to use the application now or in the future.
